#6 2014 Chrysler 200 Sedan

The midsize 2014 200 Sedan is the latest entry-level vehicle in Chrysler’s lineup, but it’s far nicer than you’d expect from a baseline vehicle. One of the updates to the new model is found in the engine.

Chrysler is moving away from 4-cylinder engines on the 200 series and working exclusively with V6s now, giving this car a lot more power than its ancestors.

The 200 Sedan is a comfy ride, too, with plenty of interior perks (a cabin design that rivals some luxury cars and touchscreen interface on the dash) and a nicely quiet performance.

It may not be the most powerful or fuel efficient mid-size sedan in existence, but it’s an excellent entry-level option for folks looking to save some bucks.

In Brief:

  • MPG – 19 city / 29 highway
  • Seats – 5
  • Engine – 3.6-Liter, V6
  • Horsepower – 283
  • Style – Sedan

MSRP: Starting at $29,915

#5 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid Sedan

The 2014 Ford Fusion is, plain and simple, a sweet sweet ride.

It features incredible fuel efficiency, a sporty-sleek look and more than enough safety features to make this a family car to calm even the most nervous drivers.

The Fusion Hybrid gives you 47 MPG on the city streets and 47 MPG on the highway, which is so great for those of us looking to spend less at the gas pumps. And at a base rate of $25,860, it’s also a very affordable option. So what’s new with the 2014 edition?

For one, there are more trim options for those interested in a more basic, streamlined model. It also now features a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats and inflatable seatbelts in the rear passenger area. If Ford was trying to spoil us, I think they’ve succeeded with this year’s Fusion Hybrid.

In Brief:

  • MPG – 47 city / 47 highway
  • Seats – 5
  • Engine – 2.0-Liter, 4-Cylinder
  • Horsepower – 188
  • Style – Hybrid Sedan

MSRP: Starting at $25,860
