Lamborghini to Produce Aventador SV Roadster

By on June 29, 2015

The Lamborghini Aventador is a mighty impressive car in its own right; however, Lamborghini is set to make the Aventador even more powerful, announcing plans to produce an Aventador SV Roadster. This means that the Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster will be coming soon, giving Lamborghini’s most recent hypercar even more impressive performance numbers.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster looks to include a supercharged 6.5-liter V12 engine that will put out a gnarly 740bhp. These figures suggest performance that is right on par with Lamborghini’s recently-released SV coupes, all of which have been sold. If the numbers match, that means that the Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster will have a 0-62 mph time of just 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest beasts on the road today.

Lamborghini has announced that the Aventador SV Roadster is already in production, and later this year, 500 of the cars will be ready for sale. That is 100 fewer models than the aforementioned SV coupe, so these impressive cars will likely sell like hot cakes. Speed enthusiasts with plenty of money to spend will be looking to get their hands on one of the more rare, and more powerful Lamborghinis to hit the road in a few years.

These cars are expected to have a top speed somewhere near 220 miles per hour, and they’ll use plenty of carbon fiber and aerodynamic extras in their design. After all, the goal here is to take the Aventador and supercharge it even further, so you can expect the SV Roadsters to spare no expense in ensuring they are some of the fastest, most aerodynamic cars in the world.

Of course, exact performance specifications are just conjecture at this point, but we will be able to see the totality of the Aventador SV Roadster’s performance in the coming months. We don’t know about you, but we are incredibly excited to see just how far Lamborghini is capable of pushing the envelope.
