Meet the 3-Eleven – the Fastest Lotus Ever

By on June 26, 2015

Over the years, British luxury automaker Lotus has released a whole lot of excellent, fast cars. However, all of the great vehicles the company has produced in the past have just been outclassed by the newly-released Lotus 3-Eleven. This new Lotus is a speed machine, with one of the most impressive power-to-weight ratios that has ever existed on any car. The 3-Eleven is here to destroy the road and put Lotus firmly in a class with other elite car companies.

The 3-Eleven is the successor to the 2-Eleven, which was released in 2007 to much acclaim. That car was super lightweight and quick, but Lotus went back to the drawing board to make the new model all the more impressive. That means that they improved on the 2-Eleven’s barely-street-legal performance, making the 3-Eleven an absolute force with which to be reckoned.

So exactly how crazy is the Lotus 3-Eleven? Well, for starters, it does zero to sixty miles per hour in under 3 seconds, which is particularly impressive when you consider that the car only weighs 900kg. Furthrmore, the 3-Eleven has a Lotus-Toyota supercharged V6 engine that is capable of putting out 450bhp. That power and acceleration puts this car on par with the Bugatti Veyron in terms of power-to-weight performance. And we all know that is never bad company to keep.

Lotus officials further claim that the 3-Eleven is the fastest track car that you can find for under $150,000, and we imagine that some people will try to challenge that claim in the coming months. But we also see little reason to not believe them, as this car is serious business through and through.

The Lotus 3-Eleven comes in two versions – a road version and a race version. Pricing for the road version starts at $130,000, while the race version will cost you around $180,000. These are not one-off concept cars, but release won’t exactly be widespread; only (you guessed it) 311 units of the 3-Eleven will be produced.

So, if you have an extra $150k laying around, you should get this epic new Lotus for yourself. The cars will be available for purchase in the next few months.
