Nearly 2 million cars will be recalled in North America alone.

“Toyota is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by these conditions,” the company said.

Toyota shares dropped as much as 4.9% on Wednesday after the recall was announced. In total, Toyota shares are down 15% this year, due to this recall and a recall in February of 2.1 million vehicles.

The previous recall impacted Prius, RAV4, Lexus and Tacoma models and involved a computer glitch that could cause the cars to suddenly stop.

There have been a rash of vehicle recalls in 2014, including Mazda and GM.
